The Shakohane are a race of short, fast humanoids. They are covered in fur and have claws just as their cousins the canians. When the Shakohane were first discovered, the canians (dog-people) were already well known of and the name canian was well in use. Because of this, the Shakohane were immediately named the Felians (cat-people). The Shakohane refused this name, preferring their original name. One day though, A canian (Rex the Longhaired) started to call the Shakohane 'Hairball's. The lower I.Q. canians enjoyed the name. It helped them to feel superior to their intellectually superior cousins. Unfortunately for the Shakohane, the name hairball has proven to be too easy to remember and too easy to pronounce. In the world community the Shakohane are now known as hairballs.
The Shakohane build forest cities. Unlike their cousins, the canians, the Shakohane build their homes amid the branches of the trees rather than placing them on the ground. The Shakohane are very capable as a society with magic. They tend to live in peace with the other species around them, but mostly keep to themselves, shunning contact with other cultures and species.
